Gcore appoints leading AI expert Prof Xu as Board Advisor
Gcore has appointed Prof. Dr. Feiyu Xu as its new Board Advisor to strengthen its expertise in artificial intelligence.
Prof. Dr. Xu is widely recognised in the field of AI research and has previously held senior leadership roles at SAP, Lenovo, and the German Research Centre for AI.
The appointment is intended to support Gcore's efforts to advance edge AI technology and respond to the growing demand among businesses for more efficient solutions at the edge of the network.
Prof. Dr. Xu will play an advisory role in shaping Gcore's AI strategy, contributing to the company's global plans for expansion, and supporting the company's infrastructure development, which currently includes over 180 edge locations distributed across six continents.
Gcore recently launched a solution called Everywhere Inference, which is designed to provide low-latency AI processing at the edge, with support for flexible deployment across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments. This solution aims to improve performance for enterprise users by enabling faster data processing and response times by operating at edge points of presence.
Prof. Dr. Xu is the first Gcore Board Advisor with a primary focus on AI research and innovation and is expected to guide the company's continued growth within the edge AI sector.
Gcore's infrastructure is designed to enable organisations worldwide to train and deploy AI models with low latency, supported by more than 50 cloud locations and over 14,000 peering partners. The company reports that this allows for enhanced scalability and cost efficiency by bringing AI workloads closer to end users.
The company intends to use Prof. Dr. Xu's experience and vision to enhance its standing in the AI sector as it continues to expand its global presence and services.
"I am thrilled to be joining as Gcore's Board Advisor, a unique tech company with immense potential.
