V7 Recruitment has been appointed exclusive recruitment partner to MJM Construction. The agreement covers data centre construction projects in Finland and across Europe, with support for US expansion.
Under the arrangement, the Manchester-based recruiter will handle permanent and contract hiring for MJM's upcoming projects. A dedicated country manager, consultants and delivery team will focus on European markets.
MJM is an international data centre construction specialist that has been building its presence in Finland and preparing to expand into the United States. The partnership comes as it has secured multiple major project awards running through 2026 and beyond.
The deal reflects rising demand for labour across the data centre sector, where developers and contractors are competing for experienced staff as construction activity increases. Industry forecasts cited by the companies put growth in the European data centre market at about 12% to 16% a year through 2030, with the Nordic region among the fastest-growing areas as operators invest in renewable-powered infrastructure.
The US market is also expanding, creating a wider pool of projects for construction groups with international reach. At the same time, the global data centre workforce is expected to rise by more than 35% by 2030, from about 2.3 million roles in 2025 to more than 3.1 million.
Hiring pressure
Recruitment has become a central issue for data centre developers as projects grow in size and technical complexity. Contractors need site managers, planners, engineers and other specialists who can move quickly between markets and work on programmes that often run to tight schedules.
For MJM, the exclusive agreement formalises a relationship already established in Finland. Since launching operations there, it has worked with V7 Recruitment to strengthen teams on data centre construction management projects.
Lee Magee, Managing Director, MJM Construction, said: "Since establishing our operations in Finland, MJM Construction has proudly partnered with V7 Recruitment, a trusted collaborator in sourcing top-tier talent for our data centre construction management projects. This partnership has been instrumental in strengthening our existing team, equipping us to manage complex, technically demanding data centre projects with precision and efficiency. V7's expertise in identifying qualified professionals ensures we uphold the highest standards of project delivery, safety, and innovation across all our projects. We have built a strong, collaborative relationship with the team at V7 and look forward to continuing to work exclusively with them to drive the success of our construction projects across the Nordic region, the wider European markets and the USA."
V7 Recruitment specialises in staffing for the global data centre sector and said the agreement extends its role in supplying labour to large-scale projects. It is positioning itself in a market where demand for construction and technical staff has outpaced supply in several key locations.
Market growth
Finland and neighbouring Nordic markets have become more prominent destinations for data centre investment because of energy access, cooler climates and demand for digital infrastructure. Those factors have encouraged hyperscale operators and contractors to increase activity in the region, adding pressure to local and international hiring channels.
The partnership also points to the market's increasingly cross-border nature. Recruiters and contractors increasingly need to source workers for projects across several jurisdictions, often with different regulatory, safety and delivery requirements.
Steven Whiston, Managing Director and Founder, V7 Recruitment, said: "Being appointed the exclusive recruitment partner to MJM Construction marks a significant step forward for V7 Recruitment as we continue to strengthen our commitment to supporting the global growth of the data centre industry. MJM has established itself as a leading delivery partner across complex hyperscale developments, and we are incredibly proud to be supporting the business as it expands across Finland, the wider European market, and into the United States. The future of data centres is one of extraordinary growth, driven by increasing digital demand, AI, and the need for resilient infrastructure. However, with that growth comes a significant challenge: access to the skilled talent required to deliver these highly technical projects at scale. As the market continues to evolve, hiring challenges will become increasingly complex and that is where V7 Recruitment is fully committed to supporting our partners. We see this partnership as a long-term commitment and are excited to play a key role in supporting MJM's ambitious growth journey and the future of data centre infrastructure globally."
Exclusive recruitment arrangements are common in parts of the construction industry where employers want faster hiring, more consistent candidate screening and a single point of accountability across several projects. In the data centre market, where project pipelines can stretch across continents, those agreements can also help contractors plan labour needs earlier and move staff between regions as workloads change.
For MJM, the immediate focus is on developments in Finland and across Europe, while preparing to enter the US market. For V7, the deal ties its growth to one contractor's project pipeline at a time when data centre construction remains one of the busiest segments of digital infrastructure investment.
