ThoughtSpot sees 133% usage surge as enterprises embrace AI analytics

Thu, 30th Oct 2025

ThoughtSpot has reported a 133% year-over-year increase in platform usage as enterprises continue to invest in analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities.

The company noted that 52% of its customers are now actively using Spotter, an AI agent for analytics that was only launched earlier in the year. Spotter enables users to obtain conversational insights from data by asking questions in natural language. According to ThoughtSpot, this approach to analytics has quickly set a new usage standard among its customer base.

ThoughtSpot's platform is currently employed by 40% of the Fortune 25 and a quarter of the Fortune 100, with prominent UK customers including JustEat, Huel, and Keyloop. The company also expanded its presence in Europe with the opening of a headquarters in Finsbury Square, London.

ThoughtSpot's Chief Executive Officer, Ketan Karkhanis, addressed the challenges facing enterprise adoption of generative AI, particularly the frequent lack of return on investment.

"The AI imperative is upon everyone and will define the success of the enterprise. Customers worldwide are realising that bolting on AI on the side does not result in a ROI," said Ketan Karkhanis, CEO at ThoughtSpot. "We've built the next-generation Analytics stack from the ground up with AI at the centre. AI is the new BI and we are seeing the beginning of an upgrade super-cycle."

The company credits its performance to increasing demand for "agentic analytics" - analytics platforms designed around AI agents that deliver insights through smart applications and conversational interfaces.

Platform adoption

Spotter, ThoughtSpot's AI agent, has seen rapid adoption among the user community, with more than half of all customers utilising the software for self-service analytics by the close of the fiscal year. This was cited as a major driver for the reported 133% year-over-year increase in use of the platform.

ThoughtSpot's product suite includes ThoughtSpot Embedded, a tool that helps companies deliver intelligent applications embedded directly in their existing workflows. Industry research cited by ThoughtSpot indicates that by 2026, more than 80% of business users are expected to prefer intelligence assistance and embedded analytics over the traditional dashboard-based approach.

The agentic analytics model provides real-time insights that can be integrated into mission-critical workflows, allowing decision makers to access data-driven recommendations as part of their regular business processes.

Enterprise customers

A number of major organisations have adopted ThoughtSpot's analytics platform to modernise their approaches to data and business intelligence.

Chevron has implemented the platform to enhance analytics capabilities in its central finance and procurement divisions, moving away from legacy business intelligence solutions to real-time analytics.

Navan, a travel and expense management provider, delivers advanced analytics to over 1,000 customers, enabling travel managers to analyse spend data more effectively and identify operational efficiencies within their workflow.

Elevance, a multinational health insurance provider, uses the AI-powered analytics service to transform healthcare data into trusted insights for both internal processes and member care strategies.

Thrive Learning was able to deploy ThoughtSpot Embedded to more than 20,000 customers within six weeks. The agentic integration enables users to question people and performance data using natural language, significantly reducing the time needed to generate valuable insights and opening new revenue opportunities, according to the company.

In the UK, Keyloop utilises ThoughtSpot's AI-driven business intelligence tool to provide dealership customers with analytics on pricing, supply, and ordering, while JustEat Takeaway employs the platform to grant its partners immediate access to business data and analytics.

New product developments

Throughout the fiscal year, ThoughtSpot introduced a range of new tools and features. Analyst Studio offers a collaborative workspace for data professionals, facilitating the blending of data and creation of analytical models. The Agentic Semantic Layer was designed to ensure that AI agents rely on a single source of business truth. Additionally, the launch of the Agentic MCP Server provided a modular architecture for developers seeking to build custom, AI-native analytics at scale.

The company's focus on integration continued with the introduction of specialised analytics platforms for Snowflake and Databricks. These partnerships aim to provide governed, high-performance AI analytics to joint customers.

Industry recognition

ThoughtSpot received a repeat recognition as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and BI Platforms and was named a founding member of the Open Semantic Interchange initiative, alongside Snowflake. The company was also featured on G2's Best Analytics Software Products for 2025 and CRN's Cloud 100, AI 100, and Big Data 100 lists.

Key appointments during FY25 included Ketan Karkhanis as Chief Executive Officer, Brad Roberts as Chief Financial Officer, Micheline Nijmeh as Chief Marketing Officer, Francois Lopitaux as Senior Vice President of Product Management, Scott Parsons as Senior Vice President of Sales for the Americas, and Travis Guerre as General Counsel.
