NTT & Schneider Electric spearhead AI innovation at the edge
Wed, 28th Feb 2024

In a collaboration that ventures into the realm of futuristic technology, NTT and Schneider Electric have announced the conception of a new joint venture. It's designed to drive AI innovation at the very edge of computing. The distinctive co-innovation unifies Edge, Private 5G, IoT, and modular data centres, ensuring steadfast delivery of actionable real-time data insights and guaranteeing edge connectivity across any location, regardless of remoteness.

Regarded for its history as a significant industrial complex, Marienpark in Berlin, Germany, has been selected to become the first customer deployment site where the unique solution will be initiated. This solution aims to enhance connectivity and computation experiences for users spread across the educational campus.

In keeping with the prestigious momentum fostered by NTT DATA, it's worth mentioning their recent successes, including a burgeoning USD 500 million pipeline in Private 5G with some of the world's most recognisable brands. Only a fortnight past, NTT implemented a Private 5G network at the RAI Amsterdam, one of Europe's biggest event venues.

In addition to this, another major achievement includes the creation of the largest private 5G network in the US for the sophisticated City of Las Vegas. Other stellar feats involve smart airports in Frankfurt and Cologne, smart mining at the site of speciality chemicals company Albemarle, located in North Carolina, and a smart campus in conjunction with RWTH Aachen University in Germany.

There are several noteworthy collaborations, including with tech titan Schneider Electric, as well as LyondellBasell in an endeavour to establish smart manufacturing facilities. Another inspiring project in the pipeline is the creation of smart factories in association with the BMW Innovation Hub.

The alliance between NTT and Schneider Electric is not only paving the way for exceptional technological developments but also nurturing an ecosystem that fuels innovation. NTT's collaboration with leading global brands such as Celona, Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Qualcomm, and SES is a testament to this fact.

Undoubtedly, through these numerous collaborations, NTT is delivering connectivity options to global customers, regardless of how complex or remotely located they are. This is, indeed, a significant step that is carving new possibilities in the path of AI and Edge computing.
