Keepit opens London HQ to bolster SaaS data protection in UK
Fri, 1st Mar 2024

Keepit, the global leader in SaaS (Software as a Service) data protection, has announced the opening of its UK headquarters in the City of London. With the establishment of this UK base, the Copenhagen-based firm fortifies its pledge to the UK market while further expanding its international presence. Keepit has also expanded its UK-based team, headed by industry leader Jerry Mumford as the Vice President for the UK, Ireland, and Middle East and Africa (MEA).

Founded in 2007, Keepit exclusively protects SaaS applications and holds the unique status of being the only vendor-independent cloud solely focused on SaaS data protection. This crucial expansion follows the recent announcement of a $40 million refinancing package facilitated by HSBC Innovation Banking and is part of the company's evolution towards a partner-only strategy through the launch of the Keepit Partner Network.

In the last three years, Keepit has reported a 100% year-on-year (YOY) growth in the UK, a pattern they plan to replicate in 2024. The introduction of a local office underscores the company's strategy to expand its local market share while providing full-fledged local support to its UK clientele.

Jerry Mumford, Keepit's VP for the UK, Ireland, and MEA said, "Establishing a stronger base in the UK is an important step for Keepit: an opportunity to build on the foundations we already have here, and grow our partner ecosystem and customer base". He noted the significance of the UK market with its robust IT infrastructure and high adoption of new technologies, making it a prime target for cybercriminals. As such, the company aims to increase resilience amongst UK businesses against data loss, which can significantly impact continuity.

Among Keepit's UK clients are The National Gallery and Oxford University Innovation Ltd, both appreciating the company's cloud-native services. Key features of the Keepit Platform include data protection for all major SaaS applications in a single platform, an independent cloud that stores backup data separately from production data, and instant recovery with easy search and restore facilities. All these are offered with predictable costs, easy to understand software, and utmost focus on data sovereignty, security and resilience against ransomware.

Exemplifying Keepit's service, The National Gallery utilises Keepit's platform to protect its Microsoft365 data within the UK at two separate data centres for compliance regulations. The National Gallery praised Keepit's competitive pricing, quick setup, and ease of use. Infrastructure manager James Mitchell stated that Keepit's "competitive price point and simplest solution" became distinctly apparent during their tender process, highlighting that accessing one's backup with Keepit "is fast and easy, just the way it should be".

All Keepit data centres across the Americas and EMEA utilise 100% renewable energy, demonstrating the firm's commitment towards limiting environmental impact and supporting customer sustainability goals. As an additional first, Keepit accomplished this significant green energy milestone ahead of its cloud-based backup competitors.
