Iceland’s atNorth wins dual accolades for digital innovation

AtNorth, a provider of colocation, high-performance computing (HPC), and artificial intelligence services, has been lauded with two prestigious industry awards, cementing its position as a prominent player in the digital infrastructure sector. The company, headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland, has received accolades at the Electrical Review & Data Centre Review Awards and Tech Capital Awards.

atNorth's remarkable growth and innovation were honoured with the Colocation Provider of the Year award at the Electrical Review & Data Centre Review Awards. This distinction underscores the company’s significant expansion strategy in recent years, which has enabled it to offer high-performance infrastructure at both speed and scale. The award highlights atNorth's commitment to meeting evolving technological demands and client requirements.

Additionally, atNorth secured the Digital Infrastructure Project of the Year award at the Tech Capital Awards, recognising its collaborative project with Shearwater Geoservices. The global marine imaging and processing authority experienced a substantial 92% reduction in CO2 emissions and an 85% decrease in costs by transitioning part of its UK HPC infrastructure to one of atNorth's data centre sites in Iceland. This project exemplifies atNorth's dedication to sustainability and efficiency, leveraging the abundant renewable energy resources available in the Nordics.

atNorth operates seven data centres across the Nordics, with plans to open additional sites in Helsinki, Finland, and Denmark by the fourth quarter of 2024. A tenth site is set to become operational in Kouvola, Finland, by 2025, further expanding atNorth's footprint and capability to provide sustainable, high-performance data centre services.
