Hetzner Online unveils affordable high-capacity storage servers

German hosting company, Hetzner Online, has unveiled three new economically priced dedicated storage servers tailored specifically for large-scale data storage. The new models boast a combination of high-speed NVMe access and spacious HDD storage, making them ideal for a variety of applications, including data archiving, database hosting, multimedia storage, streaming, or object storage solutions.

The firm's latest offering includes the entry-level SX65, mid-tier SX135, and the high-end SX295. All three models cater to various enterprise application needs, offering different performance levels to keep in line with budgets and demands. Furthermore, all the servers include HDDs that have hotswap capability, allowing them to be swapped while the server is in operation.

Designed around an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Matisse 8-core (Zen2) CPU, the SX65 storage server has 2 x 1 TB NVMe SSDs for quick data access. In addition, 4 x 22 TB SATA HDDs are included for a generous data capacity. With default 64GB DDR4 ECC RAM that can extend up to 128GB, this model is available from €104.00 monthly or a per-hour rate of €0.1666, excluding a one-time setup fee of €39.00.

The intermediate SX135 model is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 3900 12-core Matisse (Zen2) processor and features 128GB of DDR4 ECC RAM. Storage is catered for by 2 x 1.92 TB NVMe Datacenter Edition SSDs and 8 x 22 TB SATA HDDs. This model is available from €204.00 a month, or €0.3269 per hour, along with a one-time setup fee of €79.00.

For professional storage applications, the SX295 is the ultimate option. Powered by an AMD EPYC 7502P 32-core Rome (Zen2) CPU, it includes 2 x 7.68 TB NVMe Datacenter Edition SSDs and 14 x 22 TB SATA HDDs. The base model comes with 256GB DDR4 ECC RAM, which is expandable up to a massive 1024GB. This model is available from €384.00 per month or €0.6154 per hour, with an additional setup fee of €79.00.

All three models also come with a 1 Gbit/s connection. The German data hosting company currently holds ISO-27001 certification, suggesting the adherence to enhanced security protocols. It operates data centres in Germany and Helsinki, Finland, ensuring compliance with EU data regulations.
