Asanti Data Centres has formed a partnership with sustainable IT reseller Sumillion and IT distributor Northamber to promote environmentally responsible IT infrastructure in the United Kingdom.

The cooperation brings together three businesses with a declared focus on helping customers address environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities when scaling and securing their technology infrastructure. Through this partnership, organisations seeking colocation data centre services now have access to more sustainable options within the UK market.

Partnering for sustainability

Sumillion has established its reputation by promoting sustainable and ethical practices within the IT sector, including the adoption of green technology and engagement in charitable activities that positively impact local communities. The partnership allows Sumillion to extend its focus on sustainability from device procurement and distribution to include regional edge data centre services, broadening its portfolio of services available to customers seeking to lower their environmental impact.

"We are delighted to see Sumillion join the Asanti partner ecosystem through our collaboration with Northamber," said Stewart Laing, CEO of Asanti Data Centres. "As one of the UK's most sustainable resellers, Sumillion shares our belief that technology must drive positive change for both business and the planet. Together, we can provide IT leaders with the confidence that their infrastructure decisions are not only high-performance and scalable but also aligned with their ESG commitments."

The announcement of this partnership follows a strategic arrangements between Asanti and Northamber aimed at delivering scalable, sustainable data centre solutions via the channel. Sumillion's addition to the network introduces further environmental credentials that each organisation says will benefit businesses determined to act in a responsible way.

"At Northamber, we are committed to working with partners who combine innovation with responsibility," said Grant Reddin, Director of Cyber & Solutions, Northamber. "Sumillion's sustainability-first ethos is an ideal complement to Asanti's efficient, regional-edge data centres. This partnership allows us to empower resellers with a powerful combination: cutting-edge technology delivered in a way that is good for customers and good for the planet."

The partnership is being launched at a time when customers are placing greater emphasis on sustainability in their IT procurement decisions. Persistent demand for responsible IT infrastructure is driving changes across all levels of the technology supply chain.

John Rose, Director of Alliances at Sumillion, commented on the significance of the agreement for his company's objectives and customers.

"Joining forces with Asanti and Northamber is an exciting step for Sumillion," said John Rose, Director of Alliances at Sumillion. "Our mission has always been to help customers achieve their goals through sustainable and ethical IT solutions. Partnering with Asanti enables us to extend that mission into data centre infrastructure, ensuring our customers can benefit from a resilient and security without compromising on their environmental values."

Industry shift

The three-way partnership demonstrates ongoing changes in the UK IT sector, where sustainability is now a significant component in shaping IT strategy and investment decisions. Customers now expect partners and suppliers to provide solutions that support responsible business practices in addition to traditional measures of performance and reliability.

Asanti currently operates six data centres across the UK and has focused on facilities powered by certified green energy, with service-level agreements to provide 99.998% uptime. These sites offer both traditional IT infrastructure hosting and hybrid cloud options. The collaboration with Sumillion and Northamber aims to make these data centre services even more compelling for organisations looking to address sustainability objectives as part of their growth and transformation agendas.

The partnership builds on the expertise of all three organisations and is designed to meet growing expectations for sustainable IT while supporting businesses as they modernise and secure their infrastructure.
