GlobalLogic names LuJean Smith CMO to drive AI growth
GlobalLogic has appointed LuJean Smith as Chief Marketing Officer as the company reshapes its senior team and outlines a new phase of growth within the Hitachi Group.
Smith joins GlobalLogic after senior marketing and communications roles at GE, Siemens, Accenture and Cognizant. GlobalLogic said Smith has 30 years of global marketing leadership experience across the technology and consulting sectors. Smith reports to President and CEO Srini Shankar.
GlobalLogic described the role as focused on global marketing strategy. The company said the remit includes brand positioning and multi-channel campaigns. It also cited its work with AI-related services and its alignment with Hitachi's management plan "Inspire 2027".
"We are thrilled to welcome LuJean Smith to GlobalLogic as our new Chief Marketing Officer," said Srini Shankar, President and CEO, GlobalLogic. "LuJean is a proven strategist and an award-winning, transformative leader whose extensive experience will be invaluable as we continue to scale our impact. Her expertise will be critical in amplifying GlobalLogic's leadership in this rapidly evolving, AI-first world."
Marketing remit
GlobalLogic said Smith will lead its global marketing organisation. The company said she will oversee campaigns across multiple channels. GlobalLogic also referenced GlobalLogic VelocityAI, which it described as a suite of AI-powered service offerings.
The company also said the marketing function will highlight collaboration across Hitachi. GlobalLogic operates as part of Hitachi's broader portfolio. Hitachi positions the group around what it calls Social Innovation Business.
Smith framed the move as joining at a point of change in the market for AI adoption.
"I am incredibly proud to join the talented GlobalLogic marketing team and help tell the company's powerful story at such a pivotal time," said LuJean Smith, Chief Marketing Officer, GlobalLogic. "We're driving the market momentum as enterprises across every industry strive to leverage the transformative power of Generative, Agentic, and Physical AI. GlobalLogic's commitment to 'Engineering Impact,' coupled with the unparalleled strength and synergy of 'One Hitachi,' means we are uniquely poised to seize this moment and empower our clients to succeed and lead in this new era of digital innovation."
Leadership changes
Alongside the marketing appointment, GlobalLogic has made several senior leadership changes. The company said it created a new role of Chief Synergy and Transformation Officer.
Sumit Sood has moved into that role, effective 01 December 2025, according to the company. GlobalLogic did not provide additional details in the announcement about the remit beyond the role title.
The company also said Ethan Matyas and Vishal Anand have joined the executive leadership team. It also appointed Vikas Kaul as Chief People Officer.
GlobalLogic characterised the set of leadership moves as linked to its next phase of growth. It also tied the changes to its work within Hitachi.
Hitachi alignment
GlobalLogic operates within Hitachi and has a base in Silicon Valley. The company said it works with clients on digital engineering projects and AI-related services. It also stated it combines experience design, engineering, AI and data expertise.
The appointment of a Chief Marketing Officer and the broader executive changes come as GlobalLogic places emphasis on how it presents its work in the market and how it connects that work to the wider Hitachi group strategy.
GlobalLogic said Smith will focus on the company's marketing strategy globally and its positioning as a digital engineering partner. The company also linked the role to its messaging around AI and to how GlobalLogic works with other parts of Hitachi.
"Her expertise will be critical in amplifying GlobalLogic's leadership in this rapidly evolving, AI-first world," said Shankar.
